Oopsy Daisy Garden: Beautiful & Upbeat Cocktail Bar

There are a tonne of cute cocktail bars in Taipei, and it seems like the list is ever-growing. One that we stumbled across recently was Oopsy Daisy Garden, a little spot between Zhongxiao Dunhua and Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. We knew from the photos on Google that it would be pretty, but it wasn’t until we actually walked in that we realized how much attention to detail had been put into making this place look gorgeous. That being said, though, this isn’t actually the reason we liked Oopsy Daisy Garden so much — it nailed what other cocktail bars sometimes don’t: atmosphere.

Oopsy Daisy Garden may look like one of those made-for-Instagram places, but we found it to be much more than that. First off, the music was cool. Whoever had control had great taste, and the hip-hop that was playing on the night we visited instantly gave the bar some character. Second — and most important — was the friendly welcome we received from the French mixologist who worked there. We really enjoyed the way he made friendly conversation with us and introduced the menu, making sure to answer any questions and make us feel right at home. All of our interactions with him were great, and at the end it felt like we had been hanging out with a friend.

The menu at Oopsy Daisy Garden changed right after we visited, so we won’t go into much detail about the drinks. There were a lot of gin-based options, and many of their cocktails revolved around a botanical theme, featuring ingredients like yuzu, lemongrass, chamomile, kumquat, and cucumber, to name a few. One drink in particular that we loved was the Kyoto O-tto ($400), which was a gin infused citrus and tonic sorbet that was amazing. You can eat it with a spoon or drink it with a straw, and we enjoyed doing both. Of all the things we tried, this was the one we felt was the most creative, and most worthy of the $400 price tag.

We enjoyed most of the other cocktails, although none made an impression quite like the Kyoto O-tto, which we really hope they bring back when they update the menu. We liked some more than others, but most were light, floral, and refreshing. We’re looking forward to checking out their new menu at some point, too. Do note that there is a two-drink minimum spend here.

Overall, we really liked the atmosphere at Oopsy Daisy Garden — from the music to the conversation, this bar stood apart from the rest, and we were glad that we stumbled across it on our night out. The cocktail menu was interesting, and we appreciated the fact that it stuck to a theme, but to us, the atmosphere was the thing that attracted us to this bar the most. If you’re in the mood to check out an upbeat cocktail bar, we suggest giving Oopsy Daisy Garden a try. Let us know if you liked it!

What’s the vibe?

Fun, gorgeous cocktail bar hidden above a Japanese restaurant. Customers were mostly local, but we know of foreign friends who go there too.

Worth it?

The great music and good conversation made this spot worth it to us.

Would you go back?

Sure! We really liked hanging out with the mixologist.
