KiOSK Cafe: Best Avocado Toast in Taipei

Avocado toast has a sacred status for the millennial generation, and naturally we sought to find one in Taipei that would impress us.

Thankfully we didn’t have to look far: the sleek and bright KiOSK Cafe in Zhongshan was worth visiting for its delicious take on avocado tartine. KiOSK has a handful of savoury and sweet options in addition to its coffee menu, but it should be on your brunch radar for this one food in particular.

We visited on a Saturday around noon, and had to wait a while for a seat. This was a little bit frustrating considering a lot of the tables in the back were occupied by students on their computers, who looked like they hadn’t ordered anything for a while.

After standing around for 20-30 minutes we finally got a seat at the far corner of the cafe. We were ravenous by this time and quickly placed our order.

When the food arrived, our moods instantly turned around. The avocado with chilli flakes tartine (NT$180) had incredible flavour thanks to the garlic flakes mixed into the creamy avocado. We devoured it, savouring every bite.

The ricotta cheese and tomato tartine (NT$170) was also excellent with its whipped cream cheese and the freshness of the basil & tomato chunks making for a light and wholesome breakfast.
