Pay for Quality at Coffee Lover’s Planet
Coffee connoisseurs congregate at this high-end cafe in the basement of Pacific Sogo Mall in Da’an. Coffee Lover’s Planet has a large selection of coffees with prices to reflect the quality, and some great sandwich options that make for a nice lunch.
The inside of the cafe is gorgeous, with shiny marble countertops and sleek decor. The high ceilings are lined with windows that allow in lots of natural light.
There’s plenty of seating space, as well as an area to shop for coffee-related products.
The extensive coffee menu is organized by flavour: nutty cocoa, sweet, floral, and fruity. As you can see, the coffees are very pricey, averaging between NT$250 – NT$450.
They also have a selection of sandwiches and baked goods displayed behind a counter.
We got a simple espresso, made using the largo authentic blend. Relative to the rest of the menu it was cheap at only NT$140. It was accompanied by a small cup of ground beans for smelling.
The Double Ham Roast Sandwich (NT$250) was nice and fresh.
The Avocado Vegetarian Sandwich (NT$230) is perhaps the most popular food item at Coffee Lover’s Planet, and was our favourite of the sandwiches. It was thick and crunchy.
The tuna sandwich (NT$220) was tasty. It was served on a baguette with lettuce, tomatoes, and olives.
All 3 of the sandwiches were good despite being quite simple. They’re on the pricier side, but the real expense here is the coffee. If you’re going to Coffee Lover’s Planet for a coffee and food, you can expect to pay around NT$500.
What’s the vibe?
Bright and shiny cafe with sparkling marble countertops and professional staff. The high ceilings are lined with large windows to let in lots of natural light. The customers are a little more affluent than average. There’s also an area to shop for coffee related products.
Worth it?
Depends.
This place is expensive. If you’re a coffee connoisseur, you’ll appreciate the selection and quality, but otherwise it’s probably not worth the price.
Would you go back?
Probably not.
Although the coffee and sandwiches were good, we probably wouldn’t pay that much money for them again.
