Indulge for Only $390 at This All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ Restaurant

Korean BBQ is one of the great pleasures of life, but it can be rather costly in Taipei. We have paid upwards of $1000 per person before at some of the nicer BBQ places, which is why we were super excited to hear about a place with unlimited food for $390 (week days) or $460 (weekends) for those days where we just want to eat a lot without worrying about the price.

The restaurant is conveniently located in Zhongxiao Dunhua, on the 3rd floor of a nondescript, tall building. Without the help of our friends, it would have been quite hard to find — if we were returning, we would track our progress on Google Maps and then watch out for the sign in the lobby of the building to help us navigate our way there.

There’s nothing fancy about this BBQ place. The decor is pretty basic, and there’s a clear “function over fashion” mentality. The service staff are helpful enough (although somewhat on the curt side) and you are expected to serve yourself and summon them when needed. They do a great job of keeping the buffet table filled at all time with multiple kinds and cuts of meat, kimchi, other various side dishes, pickles, and sauces. There is also ice cream and free-flow juices and tea from a machine.

As soon as you sit down, you are free to start collecting food from the buffet table. Staff will help you light the grill, and you are expected to cook the food by yourself. Once in a while they will come along to change the pan, but for the most part they leave you in peace.

Once you start, you have two hours to eat and drink as much as you like. In addition to the buffet, staff will come round with plates of extra food such as caramelized sweet potatoes with sesame seeds, which are absolutely delicious even though they are clearly a ploy to fill you up. The food isn’t exactly authentic Korean, more like Korean/Taiwanese fusion, but it’s still pretty great. If you’re in the mood for alcohol, they have beer and soju at reasonable prices — just alert a member of staff and they will bring it to you.

All in all, we couldn’t believe what a steal this place was. Sure, there are other BBQ places where the food is better quality, but sometimes you’re in the mood to prioritize quantity over quality. For unlimited meat, side dishes, drinks, and ice cream for 2 hours, the $390/$460 price tag is a great deal. We just hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

What’s the vibe?

Unfussy, busy & loud BBQ restaurant. Staff tend to keep to themselves, but are helpful when called over. The buffet table never runs empty.

Worth it?

Yes! $400 all-you-can-eat is a great deal. Just don’t forget to go hungry!

Would you go back?

Definitely. We can’t wait!
